More than 610 volunteers came together with neighbors helping neighbors, during the United Way of Western Kentucky’s 16th annual volunteer event, Project United.

The community-wide day of service was held on Friday, September 11 with more than 610 volunteers that completed 62 projects at 34 nonprofit organizations and schools across United Way’s seven-county coverage region including Ballard, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Marshall, and McCracken. 

Project United is presented by Morgan Stanley – The Brown Wealth Management Group and hosted by the City of Paducah Parks and Recreation Department. Additional sponsors include Atmos Energy, Beltline Electric, Coca-Cola, First Community Bank of the Heartland, FNB Bank, Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership, Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperative, Lake Chem Federal Credit Union, Liberty Pest Control, Mission Conversion Services Alliance, Paducah & Louisville Railway, Paducah Bank, and PFGW.

The annual Project United event also launches the United Way campaign season, which focuses on fundraising through employee giving campaigns at regional business. Local businesses host payroll campaigns to give employees a simple way to donate and make a difference in their community.
